In the summer time, the French Riviera reveals its beaches, one more beautiful than the other. Whether you are a tourist or a local, you all look for THE exceptional spot few people know about to spend a sunny day during the holidays.
Riviera Holiday Homes has listed the favourite spots for you to spend with friends for drinks or quality family time.
Let’s begin with the unmissable beaches!
1/ La Mala, one of the most beautiful beaches of the French Riviera situated in Cap d’Ail
The access in not the easiest, but once you’re there you’ll understand why. White beach, turquoise water and a breathtaking view of « La Reserve » and « Eden » – what better than accompanying the view with a Mojito in the sun?

2/Passable beach in Saint Jean – Cap Ferrat
Fabulous view on the Villefranche Bay, this small beach is one of our favourites. Facing west on Cap de Nice and the picturesque village of Villefranche sur Mer, giving your the most of the Riviera summer sunsets. The beach is a huge hit with the younger crowd, who usually spend the whole afternoon alternating tanning and fun in the water.
For lunch, we recommend you go to the nearby Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild, where you will find both a restaurant and the museum: http://www.villa-ephrussi.com/
3/ La Réserve in Nice
Far from the Promenade des Anglais and its busy beaches. This little gem is hidden on the outer and more peaceful part of Nice Harbour, overlooked by the restaurant « La Réserve », highly appreciated by the locals.
Enjoy lunch, drinks or dinner on the extraordinary restaurant « Le Plongeoir », on the former dive boards facing the Baie des Anges, exploring their Mediterranean cuisine changing throughout the seasons using local produce.

Majorly known by the locals, this beach is situated behind the citadel walls and the marina in Villefranche and is quiet and less crowded than the main beach.
Before going to the beach in the afternoon, we suggest you stop by the traditional restaurant « La Trinette » in the harbour with a small menu of must-have local dishes and specials offering you a selection of the chef’s favourite dishes with local ingredients.
