Top 5 of the best ice cream parlours on the Côte d’Azur!

During summer on the Côte d’Azur when the heat reaches its peak people go looking for something refreshing!

But there’s some good news! The Côte d’Azur ice cream parlours! They make a whole series of delicious, groundbreaking flavours:  cactus, mojito, tomato and basil with poppy! The challenge facing all these ice cream makers is to stand out from the rest! It is even said that the best French ice cream makers can be found on the Côte d’Azur!

Here are our favourites:

1/ Fenocchio – Nice – Place Rossetti

This has been THE reference for ice cream in Nice for over 50 years! Fenocchio’s offering features over 100 flavours including some rather offbeat ones such as black olive, jasmine, chard pie, chocolate/pepper, and poppy as mentioned above!

What better holiday experience could you imagine than eating an ice cream in one of the finest squares in Nice before or after the beach?

2/ Gelateria del Porto – Antibes

In Antibes, this ice cream parlour situated in the old town since 1996 will enable you to discover novel flavours such as Piemont hazelnut, salted caramel & mascarpone, cherry & violet…

Wander down to Antibes Market and you should see a crowd of people gathered in front of the shop window! If that’s the case, you’re in the right place!

3/ Niva – Cannes – 75 rue Felix Faure

You may have already seen this ice cream seller when working his way along the Promenade de la Croisette in Cannes.

If not, we suggest you head for the ice cream parlour terrace. It is situated near the old port of Cannes, among the chic boutiques!

Discover the gorgeous flavours concocted by this Italian ice cream maker such as bergamot lemon and almond & macaroon cream.

4/ Soléa Gelateria di Corsica – Villefranche-sur-mer

If you find yourself in Villefranche-sur-Mer, we highly recommend this small artisan ice cream parlour located in the very heart of the old city. And what’s the added value on top of the sensational flavours? Very pleasant personnel and great conversation with fellow ice cream lovers!

5/ Dolce Italia – Saint-Paul-de-Vence

If you have the chance to visit the majestic mediaeval village of Saint-Paul-de-Vence in the countryside just inland from Nice, we highly recommend taking a short break at the Dolce Italia ice cream parlour! Traditional flavours (strawberry, chocolate…) and incredible quality await you! They also make delectable iced cakes…
