Did anyone say we’re in autumn? Well, it’s still summer in Côte d’Azur!

If you’re planning a stay on our coastline bathed in sunshine and still very much favoured by mild temperatures even in October/November, French Riviera is the place to be in! In Nice, for example, you can go swimming outdoors all the way until November, thanks to the pleasant Mediterranean sea. This sea, which has amassed all the heat during the summer, stays warm and pleasant up until Halloween. The weather is lovely – you can continue to enjoy the beautiful beaches, get yourself a nice tan without burning yourself, and with all the summer holidaymakers now gone, everything around is so calm and serene that the whole region gets transformed into n othing less than a paradise.

Southern cities, best visited off-season!

Cannes, Nice, Grasse, Villefranche… What a delight to stroll across these colourful streets – reminds you of Italy – the beautiful Belle Époque palace, the luxurious Art Deco hotels, all abound on the Riviera coast… What a pleasure to stride across the prestigious museums – Picasso, Bonnard, Chagall, Matisse… sans the hustle and bustle of the summer crowd of tourists and visitors!

Stop by the lush fruit and flower stalls on Cours Saleya in Nice, admire the radiant colours, the mouth-watering local produce – squash, courgettes, grapes, colourful tomatoes, you just name it! Try out the dried fruits or “mendiants” as they call it (includes figs, raisins, almonds and hazelnuts), pears and apples from the Alps… It is a delight for all senses!

The hinterland of Côte d’Azur unveils all its splendour in autumn.

If the cities and coastal walks are particularly charming in autumn, what would you say about the magnificent Côte d’Azur countryside? The nature here is delivering its final rays before falling asleep for a few months. The woods and forests of Vésubie turn into a beautiful purple paradise, and so do all the hills dotting the landscape. The air is flooded with the lovely fragrance of rosemary, myrtle and rockroses. You just cannot miss the porcini mushrooms, chestnuts and blackberries scattered on the steep paths. This is also the time of the year when deer bellow in the Haut Thorenc to call their beloved and eagles circle the clear blue skies. Get ready for some unforgettable and cherished walks with friends and family on the promenades in Nice, Grasse, Biot… There is so much to discover!
